This Privacy Policy explains how Smartify Technologies (“we”, “us”)
collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Mehfil by Smartify
mobile application and related services (the “App”). By using the App you agree to
the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to run an event-planning service:
- Account information — your name and mobile number, used to create and
sign in to your account.
- Guest / member information — names, mobile numbers, relationship, and
RSVP status of the people you invite to your events. You provide this when you add guests
or import them from your phone.
- Contacts (with your permission) — if you choose to import members from
your phone book, the App reads your device contacts so you can select people to add.
Only the contacts you actually select are saved to your event; we do not
upload or store your entire address book.
- Device identifier — a device ID is used to link your account to one
device (for sign-in security). You can reset this with help from an administrator.
- Usage information — basic sign-in and activity timestamps (login/logout
time, platform) to operate and secure the service.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create your account and let you sign in.
- To let you organise events, functions, and guest lists, and plan head-counts.
- To send a one-time password (OTP) for verification via WhatsApp/SMS.
- To secure accounts through one-device sign-in binding.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the App.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not
use it for advertising.
3. Permissions We Request
- Contacts (
READ_CONTACTS, WRITE_CONTACTS) —
to import guests from your phone book when you choose to.
- Notifications (
POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — to show reminders you
set within the App.
- Internet — to sync your data with our servers.
Permissions are requested only when needed, and you can decline or revoke them in your
device settings (some features may then be unavailable).
4. How We Share Information
We share information only as required to provide the service:
- Within your event team — guest and event details are visible to the
organisers and members you grant access to.
- Service providers — a messaging provider delivers OTP messages to your
mobile number.
- Legal — when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
5. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the
service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data (see Contact below).
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission
or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their
personal information.
8. Your Rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data by contacting us at the
address below.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an
updated “Last updated” date.
